Went to the Maldives last week. Saw hundreds of fish and corals while snorkeling. Thought i would share. Also visited the coral nursery at my resort. They are one of the few resorts helping to help regrow our coral reefs.

here is a short vid of a snorkel trip i did near by the resort. It was nuts!
All pics taken with iphone4 in Drisuit waterproof case
heres a few more.
during low tides the coral are sitting in no water all night until the tide comes back in. its pretty crazy seeing the corals and fish drying out every night
Thanks guys. Sorry Kakado. That's all I got. The marine biologist was away during my stay so I wasn't able to get the whole tour which included snorkeling out over the coral nursery to see there progress
Thanks everyone. I booked everything myself separately. Flights are pretty crazy. Takes around 24 hours to get there. From JFK to Dubai (Emirates) which is 13 hours. Then 6 hour layover. Then a 4 hour flight to Male and then a 45 min boat ride to island. It's a once in a lifetime experience. I have gone snorkeling several places but nothing like this.
The craziest thing was hearing/seeing fish out of water all night due to low tide. Coral were bone dry all night until like 2 am when tide started coming in
Those videos were taken wit iPhone so quality is pretty bad but there was thousands of fish out by that island. Sting rays were circling us while we snorkel. Words can explain what we saw. My wife got scared and had to go back on boat. Lol
