How many people use a UV in their Reef?

Flow is figured out ahead of time and the UV sized to accommodate it. Small installs like this don't require a meter since the plumbing isn't complicated. Larger installs with more involved equipment will have several meters to better monitor the system.

Proper installation of a UV sterilizer with bypass control off main supply pumps. This is a 400 fowlr with a 120w HO Emperor Aquatics.

Why do people always say I run Ozone instead of UV? Aren't they totally different? Don't they filter completely different things?

my understanding is ozone and uv are two different things. ozone changes chemistry of water deals with oxygen and free radicals. uv sterilizes water by use of ultra violet light. they are totally different. ozone also kills bacteria but by a different mechanism.
