Phosban Reactor Won't Open. Help!

..and I always have the opposite issue, I can never get them to close!
Try holding the whole top under cold water for a few minutes & try again. If that doesn't work, tap it with a butter knife (like you would do with a jar of mayo that won't open)

or try hot water and some muscle :biggrin: as well, that has worked for me when trying to undo the top of the phosban reactor

also use a towel to aid your muscle in turning it . if that doesnt work find someone with channel lock plier and use that as said be careful when using it

OMG!!hahahahaha!!!!! I mean I hit my reactor. Out of frustration. Then I use a towel to loosen the screws. LOL!!!
Maybe this has never happened to anybody else but here goes - make sure you're trying to turn just the cover and not the entire top including the lip that hangs over the tank. On occasion I have absentmindedly tried to turn the entire top before realizing what I was doing.

Put a flat head screwdriver between the 2 inlet/outlets and use that leverage to open it - should unscrew pretty easily. To better illustrate - the long portion of the metal screwdriver should lay flat on the top in between the 2 inlet/outlets, slowly turn the unit until you have the driver pressing against the 2 then brace it with a towel and turn - should come off relatively easily
