Return pumps at Harbor Freight

Went there last night to return a small engine that my son couldn't fit in his mini bike.
While I was there I noticed they had pond/fountain pumps.
They also had return pumps. 200/400/600 and change gph.
They have ceramic impeller shafts and look like the retun pump in a solana.
The 600 gph was 34 bucks.
Might be good to have around for a back up.

James do you really want to take a chance with a return pump from Harbor Freight. Their tools are horrible and break if you lokk at them wrong do you really want to trust the heart of your tank to a cheap pump

They would be good pumps to mix saltwater, by I wouldn't trust them as a return pump

I will buy one for a backup. I wouldn't use it on the regular.
But my Chinese Boyu pump is going strong and its so quiet you don't even know its running. Puts the eheim to shame in the noise dept.

Btw one of the nicest systems on mr used a Chinese Boyu return pump.
Ask straightjiggy he'll tell you.

Most of the electronic stuff we buy here as "American" products are Chinese made and "assembled" in America. including the cree which is sooo famed by reefers as being better than the 'chinese' products.....see crees history.....
