I just got a plate coral on Thursday and I haven't seen it open up. Should I be worried. I haven't done a water test in a whole but I bought a Hollywood stunner the same time and it's doing great. It's orange with a green ring around it but it looks like it's bleaching a little close to the mouth. I moved it to lower light. What else should I do

I know you said you haven't done a water test in a while, how about a water change?
I suggest you check all of your parameters and do something about the cyano on the sand-bed. At a minimum use a turkey baster and suck it out of there, it looks like it is starting to creep onto the coral.

Cyano is a sign of high phosphate. I would do a 20 gallon water change with a gravel vac and vacuum the sand bed. Suck up as much cyano as you can because leaving it in the aquarium will only allow it to spread. What kind of lighting are you running? How many hours do you have them on for? Are you using a timer/controller?
