anyone have an "L" shaped sump by chance?
i have a cube tank and underneath is somewhat tight. Just thinking out loud and thought i would post and see if exists in any of our tanks. if so, please post a pic or pm me
Not to say someone here doesn't, but I can't recall seeing one.
Could you possibly put 2 small-ish tanks in an 'L' formation and plumb them together with a 90 degree elbow (somehow..)? Not sure what the circulation would be like but assuming you want your skimmer in one and return in the other, it just might work if it's a strong enough return pump?
You might have to get it custom made..but I'd still be concerned how well the flow would go through it
Wouldn't a custom cube sump work best? If you have an ato container built in then it could be seen as an L. Look at custom kings sumps, I think he arranges them that way. Sometimes a fuge in one corner.
Thanks for replies. I'm not worlds best diy guy but I like the idea of two tanks plumbed together, not sure if I'm complicating this for no reason or not
I'm using an eheim 1262 on a 150. I could use one tank for skimmer, connect to another tank which would be return and fuge i guess. Would I split the drain and have it run to both tanks underneath?
Or just buck up and get a custom sump made?
house is a bi-level, no basement to drill to unfortunately. i am almost toying with the idea of moving the tank upstairs and using a random closet underneath as sump area. i was thinking i could water drain into a fuge tank, which drains to a sump directly below that one. to be honest, i dont think my wife wants the tank upstairs and i dont really want to break it down to move as its running nicely right now
