When i first got my goby and pistol shrimp i didn't see them much either. As time went by they would come out during feedings or just hang out by there tunnel entrance. A good way to tell is the pistol shrimp is ok is to look if its boroughs are expending (if you see new piles of sand around the live rock). You could also fill in one of its entrances and see if it gets re- opened.

Once they get comfortable and you start seeing them they are a great addition to the tank and fun to watch interact.

Well the shrimp the goby came with was so tiny I was worried from the get go. I dont see any burrows nor do i see the goby. The goby is not small either, probably over two inches. I'm more worried that something happened to the goby than I am about the shrimp at the moment. I just don't understand where it could be? Of course my biggest fear is it died but it seemed so strong and healthy when I put it in.
