I don't have my own filter (nor room to house the water). Anyone in the north nj/Bergen county area?

You can always get water from petco, absolutely fish, reef encounters. There not too far from you.
Worst case get distilled water. I used distilled water for about a year until I got fed up with carrying gallon containers from the garage to my room.
