Aquascaping Question

I am considering changing up the aquascaping on my 120 gallon tank. I like the idea of building one side up high and sloping down to about 3/4 of the length of the tank. I have seen this on a few tank threads and think its more natural looking.
I am afraid of dead spots. Would love to hear your opinions on this.
