Noisy MAXI JET 1200!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

i have a Aqua C Remora w/ MJ 1200 powering it. the maxi 12 is making a loud humming noise. replaced the impeller and even tried a new maxi12. seems its a problem with this pump.
IS THERE A WAY TO MODIFY THE MJ1200 TO MAKE IT QUITER?????

my maxijet 1200 running my carbon reactor has a louder hum then my eheim 1262 return.

Have you tried cobalt vs marine land mj1200?
Mar inland is loud out of the box. Cobalt is usually pretty quiet

I had the same problem when I ran my AquaC with Marinland MJ1200
There is a way to quiet it down, you have to glue the purple part of the impeller to the rest of it. I used regular crazy glue, it was quiet after that. Try searching on Google.

Try regular Vaseline. Any kind will work. Had the same issue in my 75 cichlid tank and that put alot of the noise away

remora are known to be noisy. the design of the skimmer itself put tons of pressure on the pump which makes it vibrates like crazy. unfortuntly i dont think there is a way to quite it down. make sure its not touching anything like the black wall. or try turning/ repositioning the pump sometimes you will find a sweet spots and it will ST*U. remora is my worst nightmare. excusss meee:grumpy:

The easy way to muffle it is to keep it from vibrating. Pad the unit on the side it touches. Also+1 onthe glue but make sure you have a backup impeller

In general Where is the glue or vasaline going? I have a noisy aqua supreme (and mag 7) and I just changed the impeller assembly, which fixed the problem, but from my examination, the axel, magnet and impellers were in perfect condition. The only thing I could guess was that the rubber ends of the axel was worn, allowing more vibration?
