So i went to Petco today looking for a Red Cup Shape Sps they had or get the name of it. They were in the process of acclimating some new arrivals which looked good. No casualties, no signs of illness, full bellies and pooh at the bottom of the styrofoam boxes indicating these fish were fed before transport. One of the fish was a Blue Chromis, i said damn to myself, they received only one and water was trickling down from their main system into the styrofoam boxes. Anyway i decided to take another chance, bought it and 5 Blue Green chromis. Took them home accimate for 30 mins. introduced them to my tank. The existing fish were alittle grumpy but tolerated the newbies. I fed the tank, all the fish eat. Newbies and all. So lets see what happens...

Ive never bought fish from petco, the one by my house doesn't have worst looking stuff, just never did it. Hope works out ok for you, considering the scenario you really didn't by from petco, you bought from the petco supplier!

I can't imagine that the top consumer from petco are the type of hobbyists that have been on boards like this for years.

I think most, have had a distaste or rather distrust for petco organisms bred into them from the boards. If any did try it, like Dre, it would be with the TRUST that death would follow, and if it didn't , it would be out of luck. Everyone gambles, even folks with common sense enough to know that they will/may loose BIG compared to the gains.

If they were in the tanks i would not have bought them. I took the chance because it was a new shipment.

You probably saved those fish. Buying them before they went into those toxic Petco tanks was smart...and, no, I will not condemn you for buying from Petco. Petco gets probably less than 0.0001% of its business from the people who post on boards like this...our lack of support won't affect it's business plan. But nothing makes Petland look so good as Petco.
