Got a call from friend about a Hippo Tang that our LFS (Eddies) had gotten in which had been abused and needed rescuing. He is large (about 9 inches) and had his dorsal fin nipped quite a bit. Am pleased that Edie and the folks thought of me to rescue him as he has lots of room in the new tank. He seems to be adjusting fine and has found several good spots within the reef structure that he appears to have made home. He is starting to venture out more and has become sociable with some of his tank mates. Was a little worried when he immediately hid, but now he appears to be eating well and is socializing. Although his dorsal fin and face are somewhat beat up, he is a beautiful fish and am sorry that he had such a rough existence where he lived before. He does seem to be enjoying all the space he has now to roam. Was happy to offer him refuge during the holiday season and will try to make his life significantly better. I hope that all of you have a wonderful and joyous holiday season, and will keep in mind those less fortunate, even our furry and scaled friends.
Best wishes to you and yours,
John
