I just wanted to share something stupid I did. I noticed my brain coral and three favia corals were starting to recede around edges. I checked my water parameters and they were good. I checked my RO/DI unit and saw that the output was not 0. I only had the unit for 10 months and just replaced the filters and the resin. I contacted BRS and they suggested I check the resin filter to see if I had it upside down. Well guess what, I put it in the canister upside down and the water was not passing through it. I dumped my entire bucket RO/DI water out and will starting making it fresh again. I bet I will never make that mistake again!

What mistakes have you made that you could kick yourself for?

For me, beside the countless times i left the ro/di water running, has to be when I took out the wet side of the mp10 for cleaning and left the dry side hanging on the side of the tank. I figured it would have stayed, well guess what...it didn't, and when it fell it cracked the tank.

Not so long ago, I looked at my tank and said to myself; "man, my tank looks great and everyone is happy". A couple of weeks later, bubble algae appeared in between my 80+ head hammer coral and split it's branches. Then Cyano appeared and I used what I always used...Red Slim Remover which got rid of the Cyano. But then about a week later, Dinoflagellates appeared and killed all my Hammer Corals, my Galaxea and severely damaged my Favia.

The human error was....Jinx.:banghead: LOL.

Was dealing with a clogged reactor. Was trying to troubleshoot it and had the carbon side on. Turned on the pump and dumped a whole bunch of GFO into my tank.

Was leaving on a flight to Paris on a business trip...car was coming at 2. Had a tiny little baby nem split that i caught and found him a home in the nick of time. In a rush I had to pull out about 1/2 gallon of sw to put in the bag. Shut the valve off to my ATO so I didn't waste my freshly filled reservoir while I added the replacement SW. 2 days later I woke up in Paris, checked on my tank to find return and skimmer shut down because water level too low...since it was 4am in NY had to wait till I got back to the hotel that night to walk my wife through fixing it..

Didn't help that the day I was coming home we had a power outage. Luckily it was only out for about 4 hours and return and vortechs are on UPS..

wow thirty6, that must have hurt! Did aqua illumination do anything?

Customer service was good: i explained what happened, we both laughed at my expense and they explained i had to send the units in to be looked at. I was pretty pissed at entire thing because it absolutely my fault. After sulking and trying to decide on what lights to use i just recently sent them in so well see what cost to repair will be
