depending on your tank size you can get a wp25 or a wp40 and you will be more than satisfied and either one cost less than $100.00

If you have or plan to keep a lot of SPS corals just get the wp40.

If you do not plan on keeping SPS ever just get WP25's for tanks up to 4 feet wide and your softies and LPS will thank you for it, too much flow prevents them fully extending.

Unless you are into fancy electronics a MP40 will do for you the same exact thing as a WP40 with once exception, the Vortech's are noisy, very noisy.

I have two MP40s on a 180g tank. They do get noisy in some of the modes that I use. I also have a Jebao WP40 on a 60g cube. It pushes a LOT of water and it is also dead silent. I like the clean looks of MP40 since there are no cables that run through the water. I hate to see the thick cable in water that connects the WP40 in my precious little 60g Cube. I have my Vortechs on Apex and I love the programming capability and ease. The Jebao controller is a joke - I hate it. I know some people have rigged it to connect to Apex but I am not there yet. Either way, I know I got what I paid for.

You also ask if you can get better price on Vortech. They rarely go on sale. For last thanksgiving there was a mail-in rebate of 20% that was offered by the manufacturer. That was a rare exception.

You have a wp40 on a 60g cube??? Are you crazy? I just got a 60 cube and never even considered that in fact was debating one wp25 or two wp10's.

I was also considering two mp10s first. But then the money was tight, so I began reading all the rave reviews on Jebao and went with it. I use the wp40 on its lowest setting and I love it. I placed the wp40 all the way near the top and aim it to the bottom.

At some point in future, I may replace this with two mp10s. Noise or not, I love their looks in my tank.
