Yellow tang picking on purple tang

Just bought a small purple tang a lil smaller then my yellow tang and the yellow tang is bullying him. What should I do, should I be worried or let them ride it out I don't want to lose my purple tang. Will the yellow tang kill my purple tang?

Put a mirror in the tank

Up against it. If you see the yellow tang getting to stressed and hurting himself remove the mirror. Use the mirror for a few hours then take it away. If it goes back to being aggressive to the purple put the mirror back. Do this a few times a day for a few days and it should stop

it slowed down a bit butnow the puple tang coming out more and when the yellow tang sees him he trys to hit him with the tail

He will be fine the purple is not going to let him bully him to long.

Depending on the size difference the tables will turn and the purple tang will start doing the chasing

I always thought the purple was the more aggressive tang.

You can try removing the yellow for a couple of days till the purple settles in and then add her back in. But in my opinion, your tank is way too small to keep both together happy/healthy long term.

Yeah in the future I want to upgrade to bigger tank maybe in like a year right now there kind of small, yellow tang about 2 1/2 inches and purple tang 2 inches, today the purple tang more active less fighting.
