This is a coral that hardly anyone has heard of(including myself), and I can't find a clear representation anywhere and I've been in the hobby a long time. I want to know if this is a wild piece that's being freshly chopped and hyped, or is this a piece that has been grown in several reefs and can actually show lineage to a mother colony. So far, the pic that you just posted is the only photo that shows a somewhat clear image of a colony. If its actually purple with lime tips, that's pretty nice!

Since we've all been in the hobby for a long time I do understand you concern but it's real is was a wild from a year and a half ago from Indo through Golden Basket but are now a aqua cultured by me and MattV but I respect

looks like several pieces that have came through maximum reef, can you get a better pic ? and is it only the tips that turn green and the rest of the body is what true color
Dtech that's for the clarification. Good to know that a couple guys are growing this out. I like the coral and will probably look for a frag in the future. It's a nice coral and if its truly unique you'll have a market for it. You guys should get high quality pics out there.
It's a crazies piece in my tank! It's extremely hardy I had a ALK spike that was followed by a STN issue and it strived. It's a very good grower. Thank you jackson6745.
NYreefNoob you have to understand that a majority of the Big coral suppliers Sexy, WWC, even JF get some of there signature corals from Golden Basket and not the other way around. And yes only the tips turn color and only new growth.
Duke62 I can't drive the price up if I wanted to people chose what they want to spend on any certain coral and can't make them do it. Plus I haven't sold a single frag from my colony but there were so many negative responses that I wanted to know why and if I could answer all mature and reasonable questions about it. Plus NY, NJ has some of the longest running tanks and knowledgable reefers in the US so I had though it was appropriate to post here.

Well the reason Im asking is because you bumped the thread on R2R and here. And if you werent looking for top dollar why not just post a piece on the F/S thread on here and put a price you would like to get for it. I was very tempted to bid on it until I found out you were on MR

Really that frag in eBay is the size of a finger nail..lol

dtech i am in the business and we get direct shipments from the importers, ive seen several pieces completely change from the color they came in as to something completely different, and the type of lighting as well as other factors come into play with that. nice piece btw
Again not my sell but all my shipments have always been well packed a alive but that's me and incase someone was wondering no I don't work for GB haha. Just got got a frag when it first came out a year or so aha.

Yeah this pieces has been grown under MH, T5 and currently LEDs but true it's color could vary according to many factors but this one has stayed true to a red (brown because is no true red) base with a bright green to orange Coralite tip.
