Since Acro Power seems to be the new hot Amino Acid on the market I found this article that really breaks down what Amino Acid is and it's effect on corals.

M.I.A Don't worry they'll find me!
dtech look into vitamin c if your really after great results with zoa's, there's a huge thread on rc in reguards to it, the down side to amino's is you really have to becareful when dosing. lol not hard to have a algea outbreak
Someone said if you can't test what you add. How much do you know what your tank needs. I think the best thing to do is WC. But amino acid is protein. So you have a muscle on your coral...is thats the worst thing that can happen....
That's funny because I haven't done a water change in a year now and have great growth and color prior to using Amino Acids. I stopped (personally) because similar reason why you say we should do them. A majority of the TRACE ELEMENTS that are in salt brands can't be tested for yet we still on a regular basis we do water changes and massive ones if there's a sign of a problem. This was a personal choice and I'm not promoting anyone to do the same but I've have been to the Red Sea plant and understand the process and like anything we put in our tanks we would have to trust that the manufacture is always a 100% in the mixing of their product.
