Ok so I have an interesting problem, my water tests perfect in all catagories and yet every so often it clouds up. This seems to occur shortly after my cerith snails lay their eggs (this has happened multiple times) and I can find no other correlation to describe this phenomenon. Has anyone else encountered this or does anyone have any suggestions as to its cause, I would like to not run a
uv sterilizer constantly because it is a reef system

Blue, how large is your tank?

Cloudiness could be from many things but I would bet on it being one of the following depending on your setup.

Snail/starfish spawning

Fish (wrasses or any fish for that matter) burrowing or stirring up sections of sand that is normally untouched.

Macro algae potentially going asexual

Fresh mixed salt (Red Sea coral pro gave me cloudy water)

I've had the same thing happen to me after a major water change, the water got really cloudy and there were hundreds of little starfish hanging out everywhere...I chalked it up to a spawning...
