:headache::headache::headache: Well...i'm getting the itch, the reef bug bites. Im in the planning stage of setting a 180g-220G in wall setup. Looking forward to suggestion on do and don'ts on in wall setup. The room is already prepared. Just need a tank and stand and equipment, i saved some from my break down from last year but not much.

My number one concern is humidity. The tank will be place inside the office room. Debating if i want to do two sided display or one sided display. Kind of leaning toward both side, so i can see it while i'm working in the office and can see the tank when i come down the stairs. I'll have a professional electrician wire in a humidity controlled bathroom exhaust fan and drill on the side of the wall to vent out to remove most if not all humidity from the tank. Anyone have similar setup, would this remove all humidity? Dehumifier as backup, would hate to run it as it heats up the place and drains $$$$$ like no tomorrow.

Any electricians here for hire? What cost am i looking at for wiring up the exhaust fan and drill and vent out?

If you know where i can get a good deal for the tank size wise, please advise. I know i just miss the nice tank sale deal recently.

The tank will be a mix reef tanks, thinking of maybe going dosing or calcium reactor, still undecided.

Light wise i haven't decide yet. Most like T5 with LED.

DC pump, i might go with an external pump, i don't like the possibility of rust issue.

Please suggestions suggestions suggestions!

The tank will be place behind the wall. :)
Window dimension is 5'x2'.

looks like a great start: my old tank was in wall and it was suggested to me to make access panels in the from of the display. my tank was up and running or i would have made the adjustment. i found it uncomfortable / odd to work on the tank from the reverse angle.

Thirty6, thanks for bringing up this point. i thought about it for a sec. the tank most likely going to be 24" deep, so do i really need a panel in the front to access it? I can build my stand lower by couple inches to allow access, but i also wanted to contain the humidity inside the office so the air gets suck out. The window dimension is 5'x2'. and at the heigh to 3 or 4 feet i think.

i think its ultimately a matter of preference, my new house doesnt lend itself to this type of set up, if it did i would do it again and put panels in. i think the fan is a great idea. it looks like plenty of room. any thought to the 300dd tank?

Thanks thirty6! it probably is easier if the panel is there, i just have to think if and how it should do it if i add the panel. The 300DD is too big, can't fit thru the stair so it's not an option over 6 feet and 2 feet deepth.

Thanks Rich! It's nice to be back :). I been lurking ever since....hahhaha! Yes, that light is awsome, just a bit expensive. Thinking of maybe the 5 foot, 4 bulb version.

Welcome back :)

Thank you Zuska!

sunny has a nice 180 complete set up fs.

Thanks Edd, i'll check it out.

Check out my tank build thread.... I got my tank from cody0709, he's a distributor. really good price on brand new tank and stand. Got my skimmer from you :)

The access panels would have been nice because it's hard for me to get to the bottom front of the tank near the wall, but it's possible. Panels was not possible for me since I had to put a header in my opening.

Hi James!!!

Cody does have pretty good prices. Only trouble for me is to rent a van and drive all the way over there, and gas and toll might not make up for it or minimum. If i can't find one at good price, maybe i'll wait it out for the semi yearly sale. It's a monster skimmer, skims like a champ :)

If it's not too bad and i might not do the extra work but then i don't want to regret not putting it....lol!!! I want to trap all the air and humidity within the room.

I checked your whole threads already, even before you mention it...lol!!!
btw, how you like two sided view? as i'm debating if i want to do two side view or paint one of the side.
