I posted this a few months ago. I found these under on the bottom of a rock in my display tank. http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/identification/161587-wtf.html

Last night I noticed them in my sump, in the return pump chamber. Does anyone have any idea what they could be? I didn't remove them this time, yet. I've checked Melvel's Reef website and couldn't find anything. They look like some sort of alien growing in a clear cell...

I looked at that at first as well... it's hard to tell from the pics but they are not flat at all. You can kind of tell in the 1st pic, but they are about 1/2" in thickness. To me it it has the exterior of a jelly fish with something growing inside....

yeah... i started looking at these and there's a tunicate called a salp, which i think it might be. everything says harmless so far so i'm going to leave them for now. no change since my last pics.
