I got a rose bubble tip a few weeks ago from my LFS.

It moved around the rock and faced it's disk towards the rocks behind it so the face it was in shadow. The tentacles on the top facing into the light have been full and in good shape. I thought it would move it it waned more light to fall onto it, as I have read they move about freely.

Today I decided to turn it up towards the light so I can see the whole thing, and see that the anemone's mouth is open, and half of it looks bleached.

About 1/3 of it does looks OK. There are a few small mouths on the anemone, hi lighted in yellow in the photo.

Is there anything I can do to try and salvage the half that looks ok?

thanks!

We need more info to help you out.

What size is the tank? (10G water change could be anything from an entire tank to a 5% change).
How long has the tank been set up?
Has the anemone eaten anything since you got it..what?

Can you possibly post a pic of the tank?

How close to the waters surface is the Kessil?

Let's start with those questions :)

btw..don't turn it toward the light or do anything else..it is unhappy already and messing with it now is a poor idea :(

Your only hope lies in setting up a hospital tank and treating it with antibiotics. Ciprofloxacin is recommended and seachem sulfathiazole is ok too

The display tank s 75g, the refugium is 20g and the sumo is 20g, so the water change was about 10%.

The tank has been setup for about a year, and the contents were in a smaller tank for 3 years before that.

The guy who sold it to me said didn't feed the mother anemone of the one I bought, so i haven't fead it anything.

The Kessils are 10" above the water, and the anemone was placed at the bottom of the tank about 17" deep.

Some photos are attached showing the tank with the coral in position and turned so you can see its face. I had moved it, but now put it back where it was.

Thanks for your interest.
