I currently have been debating adding a tang ( yellow ) to my Red Sea max 34 gallon. I have 2 clownfish snowflakes bonded and spawned once. Six line wrasse , and tiny cleaner neon goby... Is it enough room to ad a yellow tang ? Thoughts ... My set up

There are so many better suitable choices for a fish than a yellow tang. A 34g is small. First thing you should do is get rid of the the 6 line. he will make it impossible to add other nice fish of the same size. A yellow coris wrasse would be a better choice for tho size tank.

Yellow Tang

I have the same tank and about a month back put a small one in. It was the size of a half dollar, found him dead a few days after I put him in. My levels were all zero (nitrates, ammonia, nitrites) he was stuck on my Mp10 don't know if he was weak and got sucked or died and then got sucked in. I keep the pump low around 25% on lagoon setting.

how old is your tank, though?

Dont add a Tang of any type to a nano tank (or any tank less than 100 gls, but preferably larger than 150 gls)

Tangs will grow to full size regardless of what tank they are in (if they are able to stay alive).

I would say go for it. Get it small and once it begins to grow then give it to a fellow reefer or trade your lfs for a smaller one. To each his own. People will come at you and tell you the tank is small and what not. If you can find a dime sized one or around that area, you should be set for awhile.

I had tang in a 34 for about a month, cool fish but grows too fast you'll just stress him out, get a mimic blenny, cool fish and small.

It doesn't matter if the tank is new or established, a 34G is way, way too small for a tang. Getting a small one with plans to re-home it later on is a poor idea and rarely happens judging by the threads I've been reading for years :(
It may survive for a time, but it surely won't thrive..and that is what our aim is in bringing these fish into our homes.

No Anthias of any kind in a nano! Check liveaquaria.com for minimum tank requirements.

LA is fairly liberal with requirements, so if you don't meet their minimum requirements then it's a very bad idea!!!
