My plan is to run 3 Radion G3 pros. I was going to upgrade the G2s I have on the 75 and then add a new g3 but then I would have to get some lighting for the 75 so I can donate a full set up. I don't know yet I will figure it out after I build the canopy. I'm planning on building the canopy but having it attached to the wall and celling and not resting on the tank.

Ok just a quick update tank is in place and I built a canopy that is suspended from the walls and celling. My wife and daughter did the aquascape and the tank is up and running. Just need to move things around a bit and build my cabinet to hold all the electrical stuff.

masterswimmer, the check valve was suggested to me by my son who ordered the pluming for me, this is the first time I have used one on a setup. We will se how it goes lol.
vder, the stand is from marineland, I built the canopy so I can have more access with the bigger door. I also made it so that the lights can slide back and forth incase I need full access over the tank.

Does your son have reef keeping experience or just FW? Most reefers plumb their systems without check valves. The void space in your sump should be enough space to handle any backflow from a power outage situation and therefore there would be no need for a check valve.

That's what I said and how I have always done my tanks. He has a reef tank, but hes in florida so who knows how there doing it over there. I know the sump can handle the back flow without the check valve but he was helping me with the build and I got the "dad you never listen just try it my way" so I gave in (like I have never done this before the kid thinks he knows better than the old man). I told my wife im taking it out the minute the salt water messes it up. In return for being nice as my wife puts it she bought me an Apex so I cant complain lol.

As of right now the canopy is about 6 inches bigger than the tank so there is a 3 inch gap on either side so far the humidity in the canopy is the same as in the room but I was planning on cutting out a hole on either side of the canopy and placing a fan inside on one end and having the other serve as a out going vent opening. What do you guys think, should I do it anyway?

I think you should have your son pop over here so we can hear his thinking...and then shoot him dad and say to listen to your dad :)

Awesome canopy. The tank is looking great!!!! Can't wait to see this unfold!
