Anyone use poly-filters for chemical filtration? I'm using RO/Di now but started the tank with tap. I want to run the pad for a few weeks until I can do a few more water changes to get most of the tap water out. I've read good things about them but wanted to hear about other experiences.

Thanks,

Vance

I use them all the time. The good thing about them is that they change colors so you can see what they're removing.

NYC tap water is pretty good, I would just check for Phosates and not worry to much about it, specially since you switch over to RO/DI water. The Poly filter will pull out other sh*t in the water.

I leave them in when I'm dosing and have never had any problems with them taking anything out of the water.

I keep them in my sump and usually cut them into smaller pieces, so I can fit them into spaces. I try to locate them in areas were the water is flowing into, so the water is fourced through them.
