skimmers bubbles

Im getting this crazy amount of bubbles comming out of the output of my skimmer which then is being sucked into the return to the tank. This all happened after I fed and then shut the skimmer and cleaned up the skimcup, so I figured it would go away in the morning. well, next morning it didnt go away. Im trying to find a way to get these bubbles to disapate before hitting the return to the tank. I was using a poly plastic sponge which worked for a while but now its not working again. mabe I shouldnt have turned the skimmer off 1 and 2 I shouldnt have cleaned that sponge.

do you have baffles in the sump?

tie a sponge on the return and it would get rid of 99% of bubbles ( it worked for me )

just make sure u keep that sponge clean.... cause then u will run into another problem (nitrates)... once a week should be enough for cleaning...

I put the sponge in there last night and no more bubbles but, it did reduce the flow of the pump. im think along the lines of a filter sock, mabe that would be better for flow and still keep the bubbles at bay.
