Thoughts on GARF

I was wondering what other people though about GARF's approach to reefing. Has anyone tried the techniques they promote - Agrocrete, low tech lighting, Grunge, low tech skimming, seeding coralline, etc. ? It just seems that their methods are much cheaper and simpler than what you usually see, and yet they claim great successes with it. I cant figure out if they are primarily commerical or primarily research oriented. They also seem to promote Seachem products heavily and I was wondering if it was genuine satisfaction or just underhanded advertisement. Any thoughts?

I like thier stuff - we donated their purple bonsai frag (1.5") in the grab bag.

Garf has some nice stuff. They are good people also. I used to use their system. Like with any method in our hobby, there are pros and cons. It all just boild down to husbandry. In Garfs case its quite labour intensive. But on the positive side you spend almost nothing.

Im not curious about the livestock they sell. Im more curious as to their methods.
