Phosphate Pad from Deep blue

Anyone ever use one of these. I put one in my sump and ,even after 4 days ,it made my skimmer produce so much foam that it was overflowing even at the lowest setting and I had to shut it down. Also some of my corals are not looking that hot . I have since taken it out and will do a 20% water change as soon as this storm is over.
