depends on the octopus, the one i had was a space saver and since i will never get another space saver again unless the height compensates for the displacement of the pump underneath. i had the xs160 for about a year and it barely skimmed, i would get about 1/4 of an inch of watery skimmate int he cup and would have to clean it to get it to skim again. the water in the skimmer while bubbling even looked thinned out and coralvue's answer was for me to buy their bubble blaster for ~300 after already spending 360 on the skimmer so i decided to go with the vertex. i just got the dc regal int 200 for a client and the thing is a beast
