latino277 Advanced Reefer Location Long Island Rating - 100% 19 0 0 Jun 3, 2015 #4 I would start with vacuuming the sand/ gravel 1st and see if that helps. Do about a square foot every Water change. If you go with removing the sand, do it over a few days. not all at once.

SantaMonica Experienced Reefer Vendor Manhattan Reefs Location South Salt Lake, Utah, USA Rating - 0% 0 0 0 Jun 3, 2015 #7 You don't want to be digging into a 4 inch sand bed, at all. The bottom layers contain hydrogen sulfide, and will kill most everything. You must remove all animals first.
