I've been reefing for years and last year had an electrical fire and had to donate all my fish and corals. Now, I am setting up a 75g with a 30 gallon sump and overkill skimmer. I plan on getting three tangs : Black, purple and Achilles. I understand the tank is small but they will all be juveniles and I will upgrade accordingly. Has anyone housed this combination successfully?

ive never housed an achilles or black, but i have had a purple.

the purple I had was kind of a bully towards my sailfin which has a similar shape. because of that i can see some tension coming between the purple and black, especially in the small confines of a 75. Cant say anything about the achilles.

All are beautiful fish, good luck with it.

You shouldn't have an issue with the Black and Purple together, as even though the Purple can be aggressive the Blacks are usually more docile. As for the Achilles, they need larger tank, at least 6', to do well plus they're aggressive and in a small tank like that they're going to be problems with the 2 other tangs. Also, Tangs grew very fast, and the 75 gal tank will be too small in no time. I would wait until you upgrade to get the Achilles.
