looking for some suggestions, i have a few so far, plus my own $0.02, but everything in disagreeing.

So i recently constructed a screen top for my tank, well the over flow likes to splash water everywhere so im just going to set a piece of acrylic into the space next to the metal screen frame on top of the screen. I have 2 acrylic pieces to basically use as straps to help connect the piece to the screen.

The 2 "straps" of acrylic will split the difference between the main acrylic cover, and the aluminum screen frame, plus i was going to put some adhesive along the edge of the main piece of acrylic and the metal screen frame.

Im going to attach a picture in a second which shows the setup how i want it to give you a better idea of whats happening.

What im debating between is silicone, super glue gel, or some other type of acrylic adhesive I can find at home depot.

ok heres 2 views. I figure it would be best to make the connection between acrylic and acrylic permanent. then do the velcro between the acrylic straps and the screen frame
