I am In florida I took the car down. there is a nice clam I wanted to buy will it make the 17hr trip back to NY and what is the best way to do this willit be ok in the bag??

make sure you get the clam the saem day you are leaving.Have the LFS that you are buying the clam from ,bag it with oxygen .Have a insulated box with a heat pack ,you should be good for 24 to 36 hrs ,make sure they pack it with enuff air

maybe bring a battery air pump for the trip up



If the LFS knows who how to pack it properly(Cibo, make sure you tell them that it will a a long trip), it's more appropriate than using an air pump during the trip up. Most of marine LS imported are set with air for 48 hours-7 hours is not that bad.

Pay attention during acclimation and not to move it around too much so that it can settle on a slab of rock without much stress. Once settled, don't break them apart. It takes a lot of mojo for the clam to reattach.

6 Hrs into the trip I went with the battery air pump the store did not have oxygen so the pump is going went to walmart and bought a big container had the store put it in there for me as i was leaving right now I am doing 70mph on I 95.....

With bumper to bumper trafic on njtp we made it home 19hrs and the clam is in tank now thought I would put up some pics...:bagfish:
