So I went to the Beach today with the family (Avon by the Sea in N.J) and my son thought it would be a good idea to bring home some sea water and run a test on it, so we did and here where the results that I think we all try to Mimic. Just figured I would share this and was wondering if anyone has ever tested the sea Water you swin in?

Nitrites 0.ppm
Ammonia 0. ppm
Calcium 422
Alkalinity 10 dkh.

I collected the water at high tide, no I don't know what the sound test at. Maybe next time I go out I will take another water sample home and test it. My kids want to know if we can catch fish and put them in the tank lol, I told them remember Nemo dad was looking for him and how bad he wanted to get home, so we will not be kidnapping any fish next week out of the ocean! Lol

lol! Those numbers are pretty good. Again what most have said already... would love to know phosphates and can't trust API :/

The Sound is zero nitrates, I can't test phosphates and the salinity is very low. Kissing gouramies can probably live in it so I have to add salt. I use it all the time in the summer and my tank was started with it. This was water from the eastern Sound fifty miles from the City
