Hi Guys..

I wanted to introduce myself...I just joined up.
I was in the hobby before, had a 90G reef for several years, which I broke down.
I'l getting back into the hobby with a nano...
I've done some research and after going through all the posts
between 14G Biocube, 12G Nanocube, 12 Aquapod deceided on a 22 Cadlight.
I'm buying a 22 Cadlight from a local guy that never set it up.

For starters, can I get some suggestions for buying LR and Sand?
Should I buy it online or can I get it locally at a reasonable price?

Welcome to the site. I am not sure what LFS's are near you. I bought mine years ago and used a LFS instead of online because I knew what I was getting and had the opportunity to pick out each peice.

I have no problem using our sponsors...
I can travel around the area, but I would prefer NOT to have to spend
$7-8/lb for LR, which most of the LFS charge...
does anyone have a suggestion of a vendor where I can get it less expensive?

Welome to MR. I got my rocks for $5.50/lb from House/Masterswimmwer. They have very nice and cured rocks.

you can get base rock locally very cheap, but it won't be as pretty (all dried up with no coraline algae). i'm just not sure where. i always get my sand online, it's the same as in pet stores but way cheaper. try drsfostersmith.com for sand and rock, see if you like the prices.

I believe you are the one who is going to buy my tank, right? I told you this site is awsome. I will tell you more detail once I see you on Thursday to deliver my tank but I really recommend Masterswimmer. He got the top quality stuffs with very reasonable price. And he is not that far from where you are, maybe 40 minutes drive.
