wassup....im tearing down my 46 bow and starting a 50 breeder that i picked up......with a 1 1/2" drain and a 3/4 return....both drilled....
i gonna be building a new acrylic sump with a section for skimmer/refugium...i been looking at blue line pump/gen-x pumps/iwaki pumps....lets say i need to pump 6' up to the 3/4" bulkhead/loclines.....im wondering if the blue line 480gph would be enough flow since the head height is about 13'...im looking for about 300gph flow in the tank......
anyone has expeireice with this pump?.....or any reccomendation on a pump thats low wattage and fairly quiet.....thanks

You need to find the flow chart for the pump you want, to determine GPH at a certain headloss.

Here's an outdated link, but it does contain some of the brands you mentioned.

Blueline are cheaper, more energy efficient and far quieter than Iwaki. Iwaki are great pumps, but having used both, I feel that the blueline will be the better pump for your applications.
