I recently ordered pelletized aquarium activated carbon from es on amazon I got a 5 gallon pail for 29 dollars

I use it too but it's pretty pricey.
It is but I think it works great. I use about 80% of the recommended amount and replace it every 3 wks or so.
The online price is $11.99 for 250 grams. Not too cheap compared to alot of the alternatives (more than BRS ROX). At 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons, it won't last long on a large system. I'll have to research their quality a little more when I'm running out of carbon and see if it'd be worth it
Oh, coz I guess I only got the bag of carbon and a bag of GFO, and the 1 liter type bottles CA, ALK, MAG since I have a biocube, so to me it wasn't really expensive. Also, probably gave me a deal since it was at the show. But, what sold me is that he shows everyone exactly what differentiates the brand from others. I gave it a shot and didn't really see any negative side effects. In reality, everything we buy can always be considered snake oil if we think about it.

Seachem carbon matrix .. kz also makes a good carbon
I recently switched from ESV to BRS....so far no complaints.
