astrina starfish killing.....

Is it possible that astrina starfish are eating / killing my GSP or just bothering them and their for causing them to die? I have 2 large colonies of GSP one on the back tank wall and one on the sand bed / rock, the one that?s on the sand of the past month is just dying out I think it?s have to do with the astrina starfish, because they are all over it.
And if it?s not them, and they are all over it because its dying from something else, then what can cause
GSP to die??? I don?t want to lose my colony that?s on my tank back wall!!!

get a mated pair of harlequin shrimp and when your done with them sell them. your astrina problem will be gone in less than a month in that size tank. oh and yes the astrinas could be munching on it.

I'm on the look for harlequin shrimp, but will the GSP recover and come back to life?

astrina totally killed my gsp. it really depends on far the gsp is. most likely it'll have a chance to come back though

i pick them off and feed them to my brain and acan corals.

They are definitely killing my GSP, and it looks like they are going for my second colony.
And I just realized that they are the cause of the problem this weekend!!!!

After taking a closer look and and doing a water change last night, it looks like a brown algae (I think it is) is covering my GSP in some spots, I'm thinking maybe the astrina starfish are just eating the algae, but not eating the GSP, maybe the comb of both are killing the GSP, I'm starting to see this brown algae color on my other GSP colony and now it looks like the astrina starfish are moving in. All my other corals are doing his fine.

I had/have the same issue, I picked the starfish off and tossed them in my fuge (hate to kill them) but I see some of the GSP skin missing from the rock! had to be the starfish.
