Grounding probe ? Do you use one ?

doubt homecheapo sells an aquarium safe ground probe, but the do sell a gfci outlet which the tank should be plugged into, along with the ground probe

As long as it's plugged into a gfci, then it's fine. Otherwise you're completing a circuit to electrocute the fish

I recently installed one. It should be used with a GFCI. A side note the probe isn't supposed to be plugged into a power strip.

except it doesn't matter where the probe gets grounded, as long as it's grounded, and the tank electric is on gfci, good to go.

Ok so I know my outlets are not gcfi but thought that my power strips where if I remember correctly should I make it a priority to switch out my outlets for gcfi or r the strips ok ?

When it comes to electricity, electrolysis can be your worst nightmare. Your system needs to be grounded. Add the probe. Or, ask a boater why he adds New Zincs to his boat every year, I do.
