The double that I have from bulk reef online is well made, the chambers are the ones they use in all their inline RO or resin kits. Better quality than the cheap thin wall plastics used by other companies.

only thing is it doesn't stand by itself, it needs to be screwed to a wall or something. Because it's over built, I believe it has less capacity. (the outer diameter is 4" but the resin chamber within is less than 3".

Yeah I need something smaller and that can stand I don't have a lot of room to screw in. I have heard people having problems with the two fishes one but it honestly looks like the most compact and easiest to use

If you are not going to put the reactor in a dump then I would avoid the two little fishes reactor. Too prone to leaking imo. I have the BRS one as well and you can put it anywhere. Doesn't need to be screwed in.

If it's too bulky maybe check out the GEO or vertex reactors. They looked like good options as well when I was looking to replace my TLF reactors. No experience with those though.

I have ran a few different ones. Started with a two little fishes - threw it away. I had a brs - I find them better for carbon than GFO, but it is well built and you can dial it in.

Currently I am using an Avast Marine one - I really like it. I have it plumbed in with a gate valve, I get a good tumble, easy to maintain works well.

I had at one time the two little fishes. If you put pressure on the rubber 90 that connects to the lid it will eventually fail. It failed on me once and I walked into my room with gallons of water on the floor. I'm getting the BRS one

Best Media Reactor

1) I have used Two Little Fish reactors in the past but they are garbage, the fittings always leak, inserting the media w/o getting any in that center tube is near impossible. The sponges always clog prematurely, and sometimes the lids fail too.

2) I then went to the NextReef media reactors which were nice but again they use that center tube, and the thumb screws are a pain.

3) Then I went with the Reef Octopus which I loved, screw on lids no more thumb screws, came with silicone tubing for the pump, and a nice ball valve to control flow, thick clear acrylic, the only thing is just a little pricey.

4) BRS reactors are great for the price, hold a lot of media, thick acrylic easy maintenance just screw off and the media holder drains into the outer cylinder so no mess, easy to dump out and refill w/media because no center tube, any small pump is all you need to run since they already come with a ball valve to dial in, low price probably the best reactor for the money. I would avoid the dual, you'll never get that one dialed just right and you'll end up either over tumbling and pulverizing the GFO or carbon.

Hope this review of what I've owned and operated helps you with your choice.

I picked up a next reef. Then I found out they are out of business. I was able to use a little fishes sponge so I hooked it up that way with gfo. It's been about a week and I think I'm starting to see a little results I'm holding steady at .1 down from .16 I haven't tested yet today but I know it takes 2-3 weeks to seed properly
