Hello reefers,

For those of you who are running doser pumps for supplements like Mag or Cal. What kind of container do you guys use to store the liquid? Can you use any food grade container with a lid of course? Thinking of purchasing a Bubble Magnus.

I made my own, found the glass containers on sale so total cost was about $11 each. Drilled a hole on top and used rigid tubing, then drilled another small hole for air.

I use three one gallon size ESV containers for the Bubble Magnus BM -T01 dosing pump for Mag, Cal, Alk.
I also bought the Bubble Magnus pump bracket as a shelf for the doser, so the three containers fit beneath the doser under the tank. I drilled two holes through each cap. One hole is for fresh air and the other holds a clear acrylic tube which I purchased at my LFS. You can cut it to any length and bend it like the letter "J" so it rests all the way into the bottom of the container and slightly curves up to prevent clogging. Snake the air tubing from the dosing pump inside the acrylic tube until it extends slight past the end of the acrylic tube.
As the container becomes low unscrew the cap and remove it with the acrylic tube then screw the cap on the new container. I have been using the same cap and acrylic tube for over five years with no issues.
I also bought the Bubble Magnus tube holder bracket to keep the air tubing secure to the top of my sump for discharging the ESV.

I just pulled the trigger on mine as well. I bought 3 Rubbermaid cereal containers for $6.87 each. They hold 18 cups which is approximately 4200ml. At 50 ml a day, its approximately 85 days without having to fill. Obviously, as dosing requirements increase, so do the needs and decreases days to fill.

I bought 3 Drews Doser Pumps from BulkReefSupply as well as 2 dual Hamilton timers. Since Ca and Alk need to be dosed in equal parts, I'll use one timer for that and the other for mg and strontium. I'll keep the strontium in a smaller container.

I also bought the 4 part trace series from Red Sea - this is getting great reviews and I'll dose this by hand after every water change. Each bottle if 500ml.

I'm excited about the prospect of this new system.
