ro/di filters ?

my ro/di filters is starting to get exhausted, on my tds meter is reading 1 ppm. i was wondering how much more i can stretch it to still be acceptible, maybe to 5,6,7,ppm? before i change the filters. thx in advance

nothing is really keeping me from getting new filters, just wanted to get my money worth on the old ones

Nothing wrong with that I guess it all depends on what the 4-6 ppms that are getting through your filters, consist of. They may be an inert element which will have no effect on your tank, or they might be something more evil :batangel:

thx for ur advice but im going to replace the filters today, is not worth saving a couple of dollars now and end up regreting it later by spending more money and effort to repair the damage.

Remember that your prefilters don't affect tds - so don't use the tds of your DI water as an indicator of when it's time to change your prefilters.
