The difference between TM salt and TM PRO salt is PRO is lower in alk. This was out of the mouth of a TM rep who shall remain nameless. Look in the latest magazines out there. There are as many advertisements for TM supplements with fancy names as Marc Weiss has. Has TM gone Snake Oil? I was told to get TM A and K Elements. I got them. I'll never get them again. At the price of $28 every 10 days (for my size tank), I can tell you that A and K Elements made no change in my tank, pre dialyseas. I got better results out of a $7 every 12 to 18 months (including shipping) product. I let the TM A and K elements run its course for over a month. All I know about it is I'm out over $100.
Has anyone had a different experience with TM. I've used TM salt. I've used their supplements, with no change from lower cost salt/supplements. WTF!!! TM is a respected name in the hobby. Have they taken the Muscle Fitness route and now try harder to appeal to the new guys with nonsense than to those who've been around? Has "why make high quality when you can sell high quantity" won with them?
Someone, please tell me I'm wrong on this one. Please tell me TM has some QC and didn't jump on the Marc Weiss bandwagon.

Regardless of what salt you use you're going to have to supplement the water, whether its the two parts or some other type of buffer. TMP Mag & Cal are higher than TM but the the Alk is lower, 7-8DKH, which is closer to natural sea water. So you're trading higher Cal & Mag for lower Alk. I don't think this is a secret as you'll find that a lot of people have taken reading on both TM & TMP and they have been posted all over the web.

I've been using TMP for sometime now in my tank and I've been running lower Alk levels, which is the trend over in Europe, and have had good results doing this.

Chris, when a tank looks as kick ass as yours already does there is not much you can add to make it look noticably better. Many things will be considered snakeoil to you.

I dont use any TM products but I do run lower alk (8). I prefer it that way.

Guys, it's not just the fact that it's nothing more than low alk. That's not what I'm getting at. It's also not about "trends" in Europe. It's those catch phrases "PRO", "Miracle"... you get what I'm saying. Also, supplements which really haven't showed any real results. With A and K, I got all the negative results of using my $7 supplement, with out the positives.
Now since it was brought up, the lower alk thing. High Ca and Mg with low alk... isn't that like taking the 2 best race car drivers in the world, putting them on a race track and then giving them bicycles to race with?
There are countless salts out there that are low in alk. You can boost your Ca and Mg levels with ice melt.
I did a comparison of salt prices and the cheapest I found TM PRO is $65 for a bucket. I really didn't look hard. Another brand is $40 which is well known for being low in alk. I just don't get it.
