FRESHMARINE.COM: Any Experience?

I found a lot of great deals on this website: http://www.freshmarine.com/.

Trying to figure out if anyone has any experience with them. The last time I checked they had a note saying not accepting online orders at this time (or something like that). I emailed them and they never responded.

They do but Freshmarine has a rediculous price for the black spotted boxfish. They run around $50 anywhere else.

I have two of the Yellow Boxfish (Ostracion Cibius).

Anyone use them yet? I was thinking of ordering a tassled filefish as I haven't seen any of the vendors on this site with one.

Just went on their site and saw a Red carpet Anemone for only $30:scratchch.....Sounds to good to be true. Their prices on some of the fish are good though.

A lot are cheap. If we did a group buy shipping would be free over $275. It does seem almost too good to be true.

If the group buy goes, I'm willing to get that Red Carpet...Mr. Pink Tail is being a modern citizen so far. Today he decided to do some aquascapping himself and that's why I had to remove 15LBS to make him and the rest happy:biglaugh:....

I'm willing to do a group buy too but just don't want to spear head it.

Ooch... I never had a problem with that but all of my rocks are too heavy for him to move. "Rest Happy" LOL. I do have the whole back bottom of my tank as a cave so he may be used to a nice quiet spot a little R and R.:thrash:

Not to plug the venders on MR, but most have been time tested and are good folks. I have bought from NYAquatics several times and Michael has bee great. As far as prices, becareful, the shipping is high from these places and when the livestock you get dies or comes in all beat up your screwed. Yeah they might warranty the item, but stick you with shipping again. I know Liveaquaria has a great customer service. Hope that helps. I know its enticing to see cheap prices for fish and corals, but becareful, the heart ache you get from them dying and trying to recoup your costs can be fustrating. Aquacon screwed me royally!

read the description the pic might be of a red one, but it doesn't say you'll be geting a red one

If there is one thing in this hobby that should always be the first thing on your mind it is this...... you get what you pay for. Cheap usually ends up being more expensive in the long run in this hobby. At those prices I would assume they tranship all their stock. Which is fine but I doubt they take much care of it after that or do any quarantining or treatments. Its always better to buy locally and put eyes on what you want. It might cost a few bucks more up front but atleast you know how it is healthy and unstressed when you get it.

I hear you guys and I always prefer to do so. Michael Stern is responsible for nearly 60% of my livestock (I have a ton of fish). It is when other vendors have fish that I can not get locally at the moment when I consider ordering from the mail. Normally I would never order from the mail.

It is nice that Drs. F & S guarantee there fish and refund your money without a second thought but think about how many fish die that they mail out daily? Not something I like to be involved with. But then again, anyone who buys an animal from anyone, whether locally or out of area, there is nearly a 100% chance that the fish was included in a shipment were numerous fish died in transit at some point whether when collected, shipped to a distributer or to a local LFS. The only exception I can think of is local captive breeding projects (not too many of those).

Freshmarine are crooks. Stay Away! I ordered an item from them the box was empty when I received it. I called them and sent it back now they say it doesn't weigh th esame and won't refund. BUYER BEWARE!!!
