Are the copepods found on the shoreline good to culture for our reef tanks?

Funny, i went on vacay at Rehoboth Beach, DE and just threw in my rods for shiz and giggles. End up pulling in amphipods sitting on my weights.

There must be a lot out there.

Found it funny to see in the wild.

They will most likely live in your aquarium and proliferate. The question is the pathogens that they might introduce in your tank. Protozoas, bacteria and some other foreign or alien critters for yor livestocks that might overrun or hurt them. Most of our corals comes from temperate zones such as central and southeast Pacific. It might be better to get the cultured one.
