I've had my share of surprises, from hitchiker crabs; Valonia

; worms and 'pods of all descriptions; tiny white starfish; and a whole herd of tiny limpets that are great algae eaters!
Indeed, the "Critters on Live Rock" are some of the most interesting aspects of reefkeeping!

A trial size of fixodent.. seriously, I came home one day and my daughter had thown it in my 30 gal... (thank goodness it was sealed tightly) True story. My mom gave it to me, why i'm not sure, I am only 28 and I have no false teeth yet..
Oh you probably wanted serious finds.. just a little featherduster that came on a piece of liverock.

Well Ging, my apologies for getting your name wrong, I must have misunderstood Ron @ Mty conference. They are the same, yours is a brighter orange & slightly longer skirt over shell. Thanks so much for the reference!

About 5 months after setting up my reef tank, I discovered 2 gorgeous white nudibranches, a couple weeks later found 3 baby ones ! Now a year later they have disappeared but they were so pretty !!

It is cool to know someone else with a fleshy limpet. If you find any interesting info on them let me know and I will do the same. There seems to be no reading on them at all. I have tried some food that Dr. Ron had suggested, but he seems to only go for the glass and rock. He seems to have gone thru a growing spurt, his fleshy part was stretching past his top hole and looked a little dull. I was kinda worried about him, but he is fine now. He is so beautiful and I would have a tank full if I could find some more. If you look at mojomadness.org you can see some pics of him.

I think the most interesting stuff I have on my LR is what survived my tank crash. On some of the orginal Fiji rock over two years old, I have various oysters and green mussles. The green ones have been reproducing. I still have a barnacle or two as well as some sort of trapdoor worm that has a snail type head and sends out a mucous net daily and then reels it in.

On the gulfview rock what survived were most of the featherdusters, some red, some blue, both are reproducing. The corals that came on the Florida rock are also doing well.

Muscles, some sort of clams, worms, Stars, feather dusters, crabs, snails that reproduced over a 100 babies.

Had a nudibranche but disappered after a land slide of LR cause by a Goby.

And the unfortunate "Aptasia"

Dr. Ron has kindly Id'd a hitchhiker I have in my little reef--he's a frag stealer and rather unwelcomed, but I have to admit he's lively and one of the most intelligent animals in my tank. Dr. Ron explained they may show predatory characters and can grow to five feet long under ideal conditions! Considering my reef holds just about a gallon of water, he can't stay in there very long :)

Ill have to get him out someday.
