i have'nt been their pierces pets in a couple of years but the last time i was it was ROUGH ! maybe they cleaned it up some.
i can't remember how to get their i think it's down in town in indiana.
Punxsy is my home town. Moved away in the early 80's. Get back several times a year to visit family. There was a pet store in the Dubois mall that had saltwater fish and some coral. Quality was questionable and unpredictable but might be worth a look.
I go to that pet store once in awhile, maybe to pickup some salt or the spurr of the moment purchase but they rarley have anything of interest. When I first got my tank up they sold me what they said were "polyps" that turned out to be goniopora. Oh well -
Hey my wife is from Punxy! I'm from Brookville. But no one knows where Brookville is so I usually say Punxy.
Hello PA. reefers,
I am trying to find a Home Depot that carries Yardright or Southdown sand, so I can have some shipped here in Denver. I have a friend who is trying to locate some but no luck. If anyone could give me some help I would be very grateful.
Thanks Jerry
If you go to Indiana via the 422...
and you get off the exit that goes to the Mall (sorry I don't know the name of the street) you go past Trader Horn heading toward the mall. There will be an intersection with a Green Colored Steak House Restaraunt. You make a right there and Pierces is about 1/2 mile down the road on the right.
If you keep going past Pirces, you come to red light. You make a right and you end up at an intersection where you can make a right(Holiday Inn is on this intersection I think you will be on 119)and you can get back on 422.
Sorry but your not the only one who knows where Brookville is!!
Considering i live almost right smack in the middle of it.
I wish i would of checked this board sooner since i was in the market for a couple pieces of liverock. Your price was perfect! I'm late as always!
Yeah the store in the Dubois mall is pretty bad. I bought my Bluedevils from them back in 99' and still have one of them. They usually dont have crap for a selection and then what they do have isnt anything i want. The corals arent very great (the 1 or 2 they do have). Atleast they moved them out of the hair algae infested tank.
I havent checked out the store in Indiana yet, but might on friday. I need some livesand to activate a new sand bed on a 10 gallon tank. My 20's sand died awhile ago from a drastically high pH and just now starting to get some life. A friend of mine has been there and said it wasnt too bad, better than the malls. I know, not saying much is it.
Well gotta go, just letting everyone know there's one more Western Pa soon to be Reefer!
I am from Indiana, PA. I have a 55 gallon reef. If anyone wants to drop by or trade, let me know. Pierces isn't any good, I go to Pittsburgh for all my local reef shopping.

I'm reviving this old topic to invite all you W. Pa'ers to the next PMAS meeting.
Larry Jackson will be speaking. He is always a great speaker, and is an avid diver and underwater photographer so he always has some amazing eye candy.
The meeting is Saturday, January 18th at 6:00 pm at the Palace Inn just off the turnpike in Monroeville.
Anyone is welcome to come as a guest, but we certainly hope to convince you to join. This years line up is shaping up to be a great one. Dr. Rob Toonen, Dr. Gisele Muller-Parker, Morgan Lidster and Kelly Jedlicki are among some of our distinguished up coming speakers.
