Hello All
I just want to relate a little story about something that happened to me. A short time ago I bid on and won an auction on ebay for a
four stage RO/DI unit from Bob Irving at Reefpure Inc. www.aquariumwaterfilter.com.
After the auction I accidently paypaled the
payment to the wrong person,Marianne Brizio of Aqua FX. I asked her to return the money to my paypal account, I got no responce in any way from her. I told the guys at Reefpure
about what happened and Dave Visovatti offered to ship me the unit anyway without me having to pay them for it. This has got to be the best company I have ever dealt with. I just thought that more people should know about this and know what kind of people they are.

OK, now why would a store want to give you an item without you paying for it. That sounds mighty fishy to me. Doesn't that "raise a red flag" for you too?

my gosh, why do you guys have it in so bad for this company? Every time somebady makes a good comment about them, you guys trash them, and badmouthing starts, and the thread gets closed. The only negative comments ive ever seen about reefpure are the ones from people who HAVENT even dealt with this new company. Has Reefpure treated you badly or something? I think not, I got excellant service out of them ,they sell a great ro/di,they have done me well, and I think we should be supporting that fact. Leave the past in the past!!

I think the issue is that some of the "customers" who post testimonials from this particular company actually get paid to do so. This board is not for advertising your products. There are many people here who own business related to this hobby who post responsibly, and only answer questions about their products when asked by someone else posting.

Just my observations.

This fellow paid by accident to AquaFX and he has put in a claim. In the mean time I sent him a unit when he gets his mony back witch he will I will get paid . I felt bad for the guy why dont you ask brian fro www.aquaticreefsystems .com he knows the way I opperate.

SPS,when, you are new to the hobby, you read, and participate about what you know. Thus far, all i know is about the equipment i purchased thus far, to which is all i have replied or posted about. Now, when i finally get some LIFE in my system, and gain experience about reef keeping, i will post when and only when i have enough knowledge / about a particular reef related question to be of some assistance to my fellow hobbiests. So, now that is why ive only posted about equipment, that i have DIRECT EXPERIENCE at purchasing or installing. So, have you purchased from them, or have any direct dealings with them? If not, leave the derogatory comments elsewhere. This is not helpful, to anyone. Why cant we all just get along????

Its use less, I was just trying to defend a new company, that I bought from once, And , if you will do a search for REEfpure threads, you will see that right before, my thread," REEFPURE DOES IT AGAIN", someone had a thread started with the title of " REEFPURE IS DA BOBMB", Im done with this bickering. Its non productive.

Speedy,Everyone is sick of hearing about this thread.All the others are saying is that it is innappropriate to do this on the board!The owners have bashed each other on every board we know.Personnely I would not buy from them do to this childish behavior.I will stick with my SPECTRAPURE!

Speedy, no I have had no dealings with them, I do know that the owner just recently left Aqua F/X along with Brian Crenshaw who also formed his own company. Now you can't say for sure whether I am being helpful or not, the same way I can't say if you are. I can say that these new companys are obviously trying to find a nitch in the market. When I read a thread you started that is titled "Reef Pure does it again" I am curious as to what you base this observation on. You are new to this hobby and yet this title seems to indicate that you have some type of prior experience with them. Now don't get me wrong I am sure they make a fine R/O unit, I just want to make sure we are all playing fare so we can be helpful to others.

Correction

After seeing this post, I contacted Bmiller. He was kind enough to send me the e.mail he thought he sent me. I am posting a copy. I believe it was an honest mistake. Not only did MR. Miller send his payment to the wrong place but he sent his e.mail to the wrong place too. I would think that when reefpure recieved this e.mail they would have told bmiller.

Marianne Brizio, is Aqua Engineering & Equipment Inc. If anyone has used PayPal before to make a payment....log on and enter the address of [email protected] and you will find that email address is registered to Aqua Engineering & Equipment. We at ReefPure Inc. have never received a payment from Mr. Miller or the other client that made payment to that same address of [email protected]. Reefpure@hotmail was the address I, David Visovatti used when I was employed at AquaFX which is a division of Aqua Engineering. I'm sure that this is a oversight on Aqua Engineering part and they will honor Mr. Miller and the others when the investigation is over.

I just purchased a system from Dave of ReefPure as well. I was told if I placed my order in Sunday, it would be shipped Monday, well it that did not happen. It shipped a week later, but in between that time was also the terrorist attacks. I just chalked up the delay to that incident. I just received my shipment last Thursday. Part of my order was missing, system was not built as I requested, although he did upgrade me to a different unit. He offered to ship the missing parts, extra pre filters, and another unit built as I originally requested free of charge. I am currently waiting for this shipment from him.

He is trying to build up his company through satisfied customers and word of mouth. Unfortunately, the postings have all sounded "fishy". People who either just subscribed only recently, or people who never contributed to the forums but surprisingly gave all thumbs up to Reef Pure.

My posting may also raise a flag because I do not post here often. I post more over at RC. Only time will tell if Reef Pure is reliable. Over time, people will either come forward and recommend Reef Pure or denounce it and warn others to stay away. Until then, there will always be people who do not like these posts. Particularly when it may be posters that have a low post count. If the posts came from others that have a high post count, then the source is considered to be more "reliable", and there would not be as much debate over this. Add in the fact that there was the break up of Aquafx and you have even more animosity.

If there are others that have dealt with Reef Pure or Dave first hand and have a negative experience, I'd like to hear it as I am sure everyone else. So far, my experience has been pleasant, I'd rather have had my order correct and on time but his offers eases that.
