Cool ! Just a suggestion in case you haven't already thought of it, being cursed with floods - waterproof that puppy inside and out !!

Very nice job. Looks like you did not cut any corners on the construction. Along the comment by EmilyB - If you can install some type of tray or water proofing in the bottom it might save you some head aches. I have lost count of the number small spills I have had. Make sure and post pics of the final setup!

Smart using the joist hanger for the center support... much stronger than screws or nails..

Say, what type of wood and stain are we looking at?

i got the varnish from home depot
i have also seen it at orchard supply
the tank is going to be a 225 gallon
72long 30wide 24high

thanks for the kind words
i still have to seal the inside and paint it
i also will have a 55 gallon sump inside it
the out side of the stand is red oak the doors are oak plywood
the stain is minwax wood stain
color provincial
then topped off with mccloskey man of war
MARINE spar varnish gloss (i like the shiney wet look)

Where can I get a clear coat like that? I just finished staining my canopy, and need to varnish it. I like the stand GREAT work!!!! How big is the tank going to be? Bet you can't wait!!!
