Hello,
I need help, please. I have a fist sized hydnophora that has developed small holes about the size of a pin head(about 8-10 holes). The skeleton is visible, as if something were eating it(I have two peppermint shrimp). The coral is under 440W VHO and 200W NO. It is about 14" under the surface. Water chemistry checks out OK; pH, Alk, Calcium, salinity all OK. I suspect lack of sufficient lighting, but I'm not sure. The coral has been in the same spot for about four months now and was growing slowly. I'm not sure what could be causing the holes.
Has anyone ever experienced this type of occurance in their SPS? I am considering fragging to salvage unaffected areas and putting those up high in the tank. Looking for any suggestions/advice.
TIA,
Phil
