I switched my 6gal eclipse tank that I gave to my mantis shrimp as his new home from the green walmart gravel to the awesome SD sand. I thought he would like it more. My question is that could the cloudyness milky water harm him?

It has been cloudy for 2 days know. It periodicly clogs my filter on the eclipse and I have to remove and clean. You can see how he dug up the right side of the tank under the rock.

Should this be something I should worry about? If so I can put him in my sump/refugium in a hamster ball untill everything clears up.

Any suggestions? A Picture is included below of the tank:

And here is a closeup of him popping his head out

southdown isn't that good for a mantis tank because mantis constantly dig, and there will always be sand in the water. something alittle thicker would be better.

Hampster ball, good idea. I think there should be a fish ball, then people could keep tangs in small tanks and let them out to roam the house and get some exercise!.....

I have my mantis (Stomper) in a tank with Southdown and it is working wonderfully. Once the particulates get a decent bacterial coating they will settle down. Make sure he has enough rocks to build himself a cave. I added a PVC tube open at both ends with some elbows and buried it under some live rock. That seems to work very well.

Looking Better, Here is a picture today, I did a water change on the tank to get some of the floating silt out and use water from my reeftank.
